How Fencing Masters collects, uses and protects personal information when you contact us or use this website.

Last updated: 8 September 2026

01

Who is responsible for your information

Fencing Masters is the data controller for personal information collected through this website and during enquiries, quotations and fencing or landscaping work. You can contact us using the enquiry form, WhatsApp link or any other contact details published on this website.

02

Information we collect

Depending on how you contact us and whether work goes ahead, we may collect:

  • your name, email address, telephone number and postcode;
  • the service you are interested in and the project details you provide;
  • photographs, measurements, access information and messages sent through WhatsApp or email;
  • quotation, appointment, job, payment and correspondence records;
  • technical information contained in normal website and server logs, such as an IP address, browser type, requested page and time of access; and
  • a short-lived, one-way identifier derived from an enquiry email address and IP address to prevent repeated form submissions.

Please do not send sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary for the enquiry.

03

How we collect information

We collect information directly when you complete the website form, contact us through WhatsApp, email or telephone, request a quotation, arrange a visit or become a customer. Limited technical information may also be produced automatically by the website, hosting platform and security systems.

The website form emails your enquiry to Fencing Masters. This plugin does not save the submitted enquiry as a WordPress database record. Email copies and any later correspondence are managed separately in the business mailbox.

04

How and why we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to an enquiry and decide whether we can provide a quotation;
  • arrange site visits and communicate about proposed work;
  • prepare quotations and deliver, manage or follow up agreed services;
  • keep appropriate financial, tax, warranty and business records;
  • protect the website, prevent misuse and investigate technical problems; and
  • establish, exercise or defend legal claims where necessary.

Our lawful bases may include taking steps at your request before entering a contract, performing a contract, complying with a legal obligation and our legitimate interests in answering enquiries, operating the business, keeping suitable records and protecting the website. Where we specifically rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

We do not use an ordinary quotation enquiry to add you to a marketing list without an appropriate lawful basis and any permission required by law.

05

Who we may share information with

We only share information where it is reasonably necessary. Recipients may include website hosting, email or SMTP, security and IT-support providers; suppliers or subcontractors involved in agreed work; accountants, insurers or professional advisers; and public authorities where disclosure is required by law.

If you choose WhatsApp, your use of that service is also subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy information. We do not sell or rent personal information.

06

International processing

Some technology and communications providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we expect the relevant provider or arrangement to use a lawful transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards required by UK data-protection law.

07

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. The period depends on whether the enquiry becomes a quotation or completed job, whether warranty or follow-up information is needed, and any accounting, tax, insurance or legal requirements. Records that are no longer required are deleted or securely disposed of.

The plugin’s anti-spam rate-limit identifier expires automatically after one hour.

08

Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to ask for access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability or withdrawal of consent. You may also have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests.

Your right to object

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. You also have an absolute right to object to your personal information being used for direct marketing.

These rights are not unlimited and an exemption may apply. We may need enough information to confirm your identity before responding to a request.

09

Security and third-party links

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect personal information. No internet or email system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please avoid sending information that is not needed.

This website links to third-party services such as WhatsApp. Those organisations control their own websites, apps and privacy practices.

10

Cookies and policy changes

Read our Cookie Policy for information about cookies and similar technologies. We may update this Privacy Policy when the website, services or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.

11
